Understanding and Promoting Comb Construction and Avoiding Wonky Comb

Well‑drawn comb is the heart of a beehive and the literal home of the colony. Understanding how bees build honeycombs is one of the core pillars of successful beekeeping. This session explains how bees produce and allocate wax for comb construction, how they reuse comb when wax production is low, and WHY “wonky” comb develops – and more importantly how to prevent it!

Essential principles, practical techniques, and the key factors that consistently lead to strong, straight, high‑quality comb.
