Recommended for beekeepers in their second or third (or greater!) years and others who have interest in continued fellowship and inquiry.
Course will address students’ own apiaries with the goal of answering the many questions that are often asked regarding the handling of the colony that has now been established.
Course will be paced using the bee’s lifecycle as it relates to the apiary’s yearly calendar. Many general topics and hive management practices aimed at maintaining a nearly self-sufficient apiary will be covered with necessary equipment and its use defined.
WHEN: The course consists of 4 classes on March 8th, April 4th, May 2nd and June 6th. Classroom activities start at 7:00pm
WHERE: The Montgomery County 4-H Center, Route 113, Creamery, PA.
COST: $40 per person. Class size is limited and enrollment will be allotted on a first to register-first enrolled basis. Do not expect to walk in and be seated.
